Into The Wild. Jon Krakauer
I read Into The Wild few months ago, after watching in 2008 the movie base on the book and the real story of Christopher McCandless. It is an amazing story of an American hiker that died at 24 in Alaska for starvation after exploring many places in US living with almost nothing apart his enthusiasm and passion for life. The story of Chris MacCandless is full of meaning, because he teach to all of us the sacrality of live lived with few things but just with the passion for the adventure and the passion for the simplest things you come across in life. It is a book any of guy at 20 must read to have another prospective of life.
If you want a deep insight about the death of Christopher McCandless go ahead reading this
“Happiness is only real when shared”
“Don’t settle down and sit in one place. Move around, be nomadic, make each day a new horizon. You are still going to live a long time, Ron, and it would be a shame if you did not take the opportunity to revolutionize your life and move into an entirely new realm of experience (..)
My point is that you do not need me or anyone else around to bring this new kind of light in your life. It is simply waiting out there for you to grasp it, and all you have to do is reach for it. The only person you are fighting is yourself and your stubbornness to engage in new circumstances (..)”
What I’ve learned
We can live the life with very few things and the adventure, discovering new places, new points of view, is a thing extremely important. Travel, discover, experience. We don’t need much to life fully and happy.
